Oliver Stubel is an award winning interactive creative director with 20 years of design experience. He has worked in the USA and Europe at large international agencies such as R/GA, Sapient and Razorfish. He has spearheaded a variety of projects and campaigns for prominent clients including L’Oréal, Audi, McDonald’s, Nike, John Deere, and HGTV.

Oliver’s passion is design; everything that has something to do with design.  His work encompasses online advertising, web sites, social media, mobile and digital products, as well as, print communication, typography, packaging and point of sale. His brand focused approach to every project he touches makes Oliver an ideal addition to our creative and strategic network at symbologie.

Oliver studied graphic design at Kunstschule Alsterdamm in Hamburg, Germany.  After receiving his diploma he began his career at BBDO, one of the most award winning ad agency networks worldwide. His work concentrated first on corporate identity and package design, and expanded in the late 1990’s into the interactive industry. Since then he has developed deep expertise in e-commerce platforms and mobile applications.

In 2004 Oliver joined R/GA in New York as a senior designer where he helped create award winning work for Sharp, Subaru and Purina.  He was hired in 2007 by Sapient to build up and manage the creative department in their New York office.  While at Sapient he was responsible for the re-design of websites for Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Lines, plus John Deere’s new interactive face.  His work also included projects for Citibank, MetLife, and The Wall Street Journal and others.  In 2011, as Creative Director at Razorfish, he developed a brand new look for O2 Online, and an interactive campaign for McDonald’s Germany, which was the most extensive interactive campaign in the company’s history.

His work for McDonald’s garnered several local and international awards in 2012.  Over the years Oliver’s work has been recognized with Art Directors Club and AME Awards, New York ADDY Awards and others.

Oliver is fluent in English and German. When he is not working on a new design project, you will find him on the field hockey pitch, where he still actively plays the position of goalie.
