Oasis Advertising occupies the top floor of an industrial loft building in New York’s garment district. The clients shared a love for the urban vernacular with Specht Harpman Architects. ln the garment district, air-conditioning louvers commonly replace glass sash windows and signal the presence of clothing factories. In this project, we used louvers to create custom, raked lighting at the reception area and operable privacy screens at the executive workstations. Custom pendant lights were made from air filters commonly found on large delivery trucks, and in this installation are used to delineate the main circulation routes and conference areas. Open workstations hug the perimeter and maintain a low datum to ensure unobstructed views to the Hudson River. Specht Harpman Architects; AIA Award. symbologie. member Louise Harpman
