motion designer

Markus Homeier is a versatile creative talent, whose passion for images and sound is the driving force behind his sophisticated motion design. His sense of composition and rhythm, as well as his conceptual and interdisciplinary thinking, are what distinguish him as a designer. An ideal addition to our symbologie. network, Markus’s broad experience, skills and interests make him “a secret weapon”, to quote a client, in finding solutions that go beyond the obvious design challenges.

Since founding his own studio, livinroom.berlin, in 2001, Markus has worked for such clients as Volkswagen, Tchibo, DHL and Samsung, as well as a number of media production and creative agencies.  His motion design work includes animations, trailers and movie titles, as well as visuals and experimental films.

Markus studied visual communications at the University of Kassel, as well as film and media design at the Berlin University of the Arts.  During an internship in the early 90’s at Das Werk in Frankfurt am Main, Markus began working in digital postproduction. While continuing his studies in Kassel, he regularly worked as a digital artist for Das Werk on various projects including the ZDF broadcast redesign by Razorfish. While studying in Berlin he also freelanced on projects for Siemens, Expo 2000, Transmediale and Documenta X.

When he’s not busy developing another great motion design project, Markus is the musical Swiss Army knife of the band Folkadelic Hobo Jamboree and sits behind computer, microphone, and various obscure instruments to provide the band’s extra groovy flavour.  He is also a talented photographer who’s enthusiasm for all visual aspects is evident in his photographic work that focuses on architecture and landscape.

Markus was born in Munich, lives in Berlin, and serves an international clientele.  He speaks fluent German and English.
